PURPOSE: To produce a resin type chromate film treated steel sheet excellent in corrosion resistance and the adhesion of coating material.
CONSTITUTION: An organic resin film contg. hardly soluble chromate fine grains is formed on one side or both sides of a plated steel sheet. As the hardly soluble chromate, XCrO4 (X=Zn, Sr, Ba and Pb) is used, and as the organic resin, any of water-based or solvent-based acrylic resin, epoxy resin, urethane resin may be used. Thus, the chromate treated steel sheet in which corrosion resistance and the adhesion of coating material are well-balanced can be obtd. Furthermore, the treated steel sheet small in the elution of chromate, free from contamination of a treating soln. in reference treating stages and furthermore improved in the adhesion of coating material can be produced.
