PURPOSE: To improve the wear property of the coated resin and to impart stable electrostatic chargeability to the toner by using a specific resin formed of a copolymer obtd. by polymerizing ≥3 kinds of monomers for a front layer.
CONSTITUTION: This carrier is coated with the copolymer obtd. by polymerizing ≥3 kinds of the monomers essentially consisting of at least one kind of the monomers selected from the components expressed by formula I, formula II and acrylate or methacrylate, by which the front layer is formed. In the formulas I, II, R denotes H or CH3, X, Y denote (CF2)n (where n is 1 to 4). The contamination of the carrier surface by the toner particles is lessened in this way by the decreased energy. The electrostatic charge characteristics are less changed in spite of a change in environmental conditions, such as low temp. or high temp. In addition, the positive charge is stably imparted to the toner and the regulation of the positive charge quantity imparted to the toner is facilitated by changing the content ratio. The tough resin is obtd. by the copolymn.
