To provide a resin composition for exterior coating of can using a copolyester resin wherein environmental factors are considered, excellent in polymerizing activity, suppressing discoloration of the resin, containing reduced amount of foreign matters originating from aluminum and to provide a coated metal plate having processability and deterioration resistance with the passage of time.
The invention relates to the resin composition comprising a copolyester resin (A) obtained by a polymerization using a polymerization catalyst containing an aluminum compound, and comprising 20-80 mol% of isophthalic acid as an acid component, 70-100 mol% of at least one or more of glycols having an alkyl side chain group represented by formula (1) in the glycol components and 0-30 mol% of the other glycols and (B) a crosslinking agent. (In the formula (1), R1 or R2 are each a 1-6C alkyl group).
