To obtain a new resin composition rapidly hardenable by ultraviolet rays, having excellent adhesiveness to a resin base material with slight discoloration of the hardened material and having high refractive index by making the composition contain a urethane (meth)acrylate having a specific structure, a diluent and methylbenzoyl formate.
This resin composition contains (A) a urethane (meth)acrylate as a reaction product of (i) a (meth)acrylate having a hydroxyl group in a molecule [e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate], (ii) an aromatic diisocyanate (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate) and (iii) a diol compound as an optional component, (B) a diluent (e.g. phenoxyethyl acrylate) and (C) methylbenzoyl formate as a photopolymerization initiator. Preferably, 25-85 wt.% of the component B and 0.1-15 wt.% of the component C are contained in the objective composition.
