To provide a resin composition from which a positive retardation film excellent in mechanical strength is produced.SOLUTION: A resin composition contains a polymer chain (A) having a unit derived from a diene and/or an olefin and a polymer chain (B) having a unit (b1) derived from (meth) acrylic monomer and a unit (b2) with a ring structure in the backbone chain. The resin composition has a stress optical coefficient Cr of 1.0×10-11 Pa-1 or more and 12.0×10-11 Pa-1 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
