Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method by which a resin film having nearly zero retardation Rth in a thickness direction can be produced by a melt-extrusion process.SOLUTION: The production method of a resin film includes: a step (I) of obtaining a resin film by extruding a resin at temperature equal to or higher than glass transition temperature thereof from a die into a film; and a step (II) of cooling the resin film by receiving the film on a support face of a support body. In the step (II), the resin film includes a first fixed region, a first stretched region, a center region, a second stretched region, and a second fixed region, in this order in a width direction of the resin film. The step (II) includes a step of bringing the first fixed region and the second fixed region of the resin film, into tight contact with the support face; and a stretched amount in the first stretched region and in the second stretched region when the same tension is applied to the film is larger than a stretched amount in the center region.
