To obtain a resin material which can give a drain pipe having well- balanced flexibility and rigidity by adding a specified amount of a glass fiber and a specified amount of a rubber component to a thermoplastic resin.
This material is prepared by adding 5-40 wt.%, desirably, 10-30 wt.% glass fiber desirably having a thickness of 10-50 μm and a length of 200-500 μm and 5-30 wt.%, desirably, 10-20 wt.% rubber component to 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic desirably having a heat distortion temperature of 50°C or above (under a load of 14.6 kg/cm2) and a melting point of 150°C or above. The total amount of the glass fiber and the rubber component should be at most 50 wt.% based on the thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin is exemplified by a nylon or PET. The rubber component is exemplified by an ionomer resin such as an ethylene/acrylic acid polymer, an elastomer such as a urethane resin or EPDM, or a rubber such as SBR or NR. This material can give a drain pipe highly able to retain its initial shape even in asphalt.
