Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make improvements in wheel cracking prevention, efficiency and machinability, by plasticizing the periphery of a grinding wheel except its cutting face by means of an epoxy resin injection mold.

CONSTITUTION: Abrasive grains composed of an alumina material or the like is solidified in the periphery of a grinding wheel made up of molding and hardening with a bonding agent of vitrified bond and so on, upon injection of epoxy resin inclusive of a stiffening agent or the like at room temperature of applying little heat without applying pressure. As for a mold in this case, it is better to use such one as being made of silicon rubber. With this constitution, wheel cracking or the like is preventable from occurring and, what is more, machinability is well improved in a highly efficient manner.
