Title:
RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3902063
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely measure the resistance on a real time basis when a melting furnace is in operation.
SOLUTION: This resistance measurement instrument to measure the resistance of one insulating sleeve out of first and second insulating sleeves of a plasma type melting furnace including first and second electrodes, first and second shells located around the first and second electrodes, respectively, an insulation flange to insulate between the first and second shells, and first and second insulation sleeves comprises an inductance, a capacitor, and a high frequency power source connected in series to the electrode and the shell corresponding to one insulation sleeve via the inductance and the capacitor, and further comprises a resistance measurement instrument to find the resistance of the insulation sleeve from the voltage applied between the electrode and the shell by the high frequency power source, the current flowing between the electrode and the shell, and the phase difference between the current and the voltage. The high frequency power source may be connected via a resistor.
