To provide a resonator which takes out an oscillation frequency of a resonator from a resonator end surface stably and whose height is less than or equal to 0.6 mm in a surface mounted type resonator.
This resonator is provided with 1st and 2nd grooves 12a and 12b, which are respectively provided from both ends of an upper surface of a lower case 3 that is made of an insulating member toward a central part, 1st and 2nd conducting parts 9 and 10 which are buried into them, a diaphragm 4 which is placed as if to span them and whose both ends are respectively and electrically connected, a 3rd groove 11 that is provided with the case 3 which corresponds to an exciting part of the diaphragm 4, a frame body 2 that is provided so as to surround the diaphragm 4 and an upper case 1 which is made of an insulating member that is provided as to cover the body 2.
