To provide a retainer for a cylindrical roller bearing eliminating inclination and twisting of respective pillar parts.
In the retainer for the cylindrical roller bearing having a pocket 10 for retaining a plurality of cylindrical rollers 5 between an inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2, it comprises a pair of annular side plates 7, 9 and a plurality of pillar parts 8 for connecting these side plates 7, 9, axial projections 11 are provided on both ends of the respective pillar parts 8, and a plurality of insertion holes 12 fitted with the projections 11 of the respective pillar parts 8 are formed in a circumferential direction of the respective side plates 7, 9 at a constant pitch. The respective projections 11 have taper parts 15 approaching toward the pillar part and engaged with a peripheral edge of the insertion hole 12 on both side surfaces in a radial direction. When the projection 11 is fitted to the insertion hole 12 by fastening fitting, since the peripheral edge of the insertion hole 12 is engaged with the taper part 15, the pillar part 8 is positioned relative to the side plates 7, 9. Thereby, when the projection 11 of the pillar part 8 is calked, the pillar part 8 can be prevented from being inclined and twisted.
