Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a similarity retrieval device which quickly retrieves data without limiting the character type of a retrieval key.
SOLUTION: Unit position corresponding memory 10 stores tables which show where each unit in a retrieval key which is inputted by using a keyboard 21 appears in the retrieval key. A retrieving part 5 refers to stored tables in the memory 10, generates plural state parameters which represent what a similarity degree is, until which unit in the retrieval key a unit coincides with and after that how many units in the database the unit skips and separately includes a similarity degree, a coincidence position and a skip number every time it reads a unit one by one from database memory 3 that contains plural units, updates a state parameter that is stored in state parameter memory 4 and also outputs the unit string as a similar unit string when it detects a unit string that coincides below an inputted similarity degree.
