Abstract:

To selectively apply ink to a plate or a blanket by coating a flexographic printing plate with aq. ink and coating the blanket with aq. ink and drying the aq. ink on a substrate material before a second printing treatment process of the substrate material immediately after printing.

Ink and/or a coating material is applied to the plate P on a plate cylinder 32 by the inking/coating apparatus 10 having an inking/coating assembly arranged at an upper cradle position. Further, flexographic printing ink or aq. ink and/or a coating material is applied to the plate or blanket on a blanket cylinder 34 by the inking/coating apparatus 10. The water component on the surface of a substrate material just printed or coated is evaporated and dried by the drying device between high speed high temp. air unit and high vol. heat.moisture extraction devices 124, 126, 128.
