PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and shorten the operation time in such a way that one pair of feed pawls and one pair of stoppers are provided leaving spaces in the front and rear directions to the return conveyor for a transfer line or another in order to dispense with push-in and push-out devices.

CONSTITUTION: One pair of feed pawls 6, 7 are provided with a proper pitch P on a return conveyor 5, and one pair of stoppers 10, 11 are installed likewise ahead in its feeding direction. On another hand, the front groove 9 which takes the L position as the front end wall in the distance of almost the same size as the pitch P between the feed pawls 6, 7 from its trailing end face, and the rear end groove 12 to meet the rear stopper 11 are provided on the lower side of a material to be conveyed 8 of a pallet or the like. When the material to be conveyed 8 is transferred between transfer bars 3, 4, after pull-out is done in such a way that the front feed pawl 6 is engaged with the front groove 9 of the material to be conveyed 8 which has been positioned by the front stopper 10, the trailing end of the material to be conveyed 8 which has been positioned by engaging the rear stopper 11 with the rear groove 12 is fed in by being pushed by the rear feeding pawl 7.
