PURPOSE: To obtain the rewinder, by which coiling of a quenched strip is surly executed, by providing coiling reel fitting a sleeve composed of metal having m.p. lower than the strip temp. and pushing roll for pushing the strip.
CONSTITUTION: On the coiling reel 5, the metal-made sleeve 4 having m.p. equal to the strip temp. during coiling, is fitted and rotated. At the time of starting the casting and when tip part of the strip 2 reaches the coiling reel, the strip is pushed to the coiling reel with the pushing roll 3 to stick the strip to the sleeve. The pushing roll is made to water cooling type in the inner part, and when the sleeve surface of coiling reel contacts with the strip and melts, the molten part is made to solidify and stick by conducting the heat and the melting of sleeve is stopped. In the case the metal used to the sleeve is the one having m.p. lower than the strip temp. just before coiling to the coiling reel and lower by within 50°C, the good stickness is obtd.
