Print information such as an erase confirmation mark 7 etc recorded in the rewritable recording medium 3, is detected by a print information detection device 11 such as a mark detection device 8, while the rewritable recording medium 3 such as heat-sensitive paper is transferred by a feeder device 4. Only when such a detection is made, the rewritable recording medium 3 is regenerated by erasing print information including the erase confirmation mark 7 by activating the print erasing device 15.
