With an RFID antenna and an RFID antenna device having a radio wave absorber so as to branch a radiation area of radio wave radiated from the antenna into at least two directions, an article to which an RFID tag is attached is passed through one branched radio wave radiation area A, an area B in which radio wave is blocked by the radio wave absorber and the other branched radio wave radiation area C in this order to perform communication. By detection in the area A, non-detection in the area B and detection in the area C, the movement of the article can be detected.
