Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate ribbon exchange by utilizing tension of a belt to make possible to push in studs of the ribbon spool and the hub to be exchanged with holding notches on the cartridge wall and by having folded path to be hardly unengaged after pushed. CONSTITUTION: A wall 1 has L-shaped notches 31 and 32. A belt 15 pushes a stud 33 of a supply spool hub 25 to hold at the edge of the notch 31, pushes a stud 35 of a take-up spool hub 17 to hold at the edge of the notch 32. Ribbon 21 is used and wound to a spool 29, the end of the ribbon 21 is detached from the supply spool hub 25, the take-up spool hub 17 is discarded as wound with the ribbon 21, and the hub 25 is left without discarded. A new hub fully wound with unused ribbon 21 is put on the vacant notch 32. The stud 35 is guided in the notch 32 until the belt 15 pushes the stud 35 into the end of the notch 32. The free end of the ribbon 21 is attached to the hub 25 at its adhesive portion. The cartridge is turned over and reloaded on the printer.
