PURPOSE: To stabilize the quality of rice received in a rice reservoir for improving the rice taste in a rice boiling operation irrespective of a change in ambient temperature in a rice washing and boiling device.

CONSTITUTION: While a rice storing part A, rice washing part B and rice boiling part C are longitudinally arranged in the mentioned order, the rice storing part A and rice washing part B are composed integrally with each other to be moved laterally. A predetermined amount of rice is supplied from a rice reservoir 1 to a rice washing tank 20 and washed therein. The washed rice is ejected from the rice washing tank 20 to a kiln located thereunder where a rice boiling operation is carried out. A cooler 11 of the rice storing part A sends cold air to a cooling chamber 12 to cool the rice reservoir 1 and rice. When a stored rice-amount detecting sensor 4 detects a predetermined amount or less of stored rice, the operation of the cooler 11 is stopped.
