PURPOSE: To provide a ring or traveler for spinning frames and throwing machines, which is laminated and provided with layers of a hard material (titanium aluminum nitride), low in wear rate and mass loss, and capable of increasing service time.

CONSTITUTION: This ring or traveler 1 for spinning frames and throwing machines, provided with layers of a hard material, has a core 2 of steel wire having a circular or rectangular section, coated with layers 3, 4 of titanium aluminum nitride. These layers 3, 4 should be as thin as possible (5 μm or less), especially for light ring or traveler 1, or corrected in its weight by reducing the sectional area of the core 2 not to excessively damage stability of the ring or traveler 1, in order to reduce its wear rate and mass loss.
