To provide a ring with flange having various cross sections formed by a method employing an improved existing apparatus.

The ring with flange is formed from a straight flanged member with U-shaped cross section which has a base section and projected sections extended from the base section. A forming apparatus 100 is equipped with a first wheel 102 suited to increase the length by compressing the projected section of the flanged member and a second wheel 110. The forming apparatus 100 is also equipped with a roller 120 which has a conical part on the outer peripheral face suited to increase the length on the outer side compared with the inner side by compressing the outer side on the base section of the flanged member. The second wheel comprises a bearing face 116 facing to the roller 120.
