Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a riser heat insulating material for casting having a rapid exothermic property and an excellent property to sustain a heat insulating effect.
CONSTITUTION: The fine powder of an aluminum compd. contg. 20 to 60wt.% ferroaluminum in which 10 to 40wt.% aluminum is incorporated, 5 to 20wt.% aluminum nitride and 30 to 65wt.% alumina and is sized ≤100 meshes is used as a chief material and fine pieces of aluminum foil, oxidizing agent and oxidation accelerator are added to this chief material.
