PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of artificial and natural damage to a rising and falling dam made of a flexible film by a method in which a fitting sheet is provided fixedly to the outer surface of a rubberized fabric filmy material, and a reinforcing material for protecting the dam from external damage is inserted into the space between both the fitting sheet and the filmy material.
CONSTITUTION: A fitting sheet 7 is provided fixedly to the outer surface of a rubberized fabric filmy material 4 by using a bonding or mechanical fitting method for the ends of a rising and falling dam. A reinforcing material 8 for protecting the filmy material 4 from external damage is inserted into the space between the sheet 7 and the material 4 without bonding it to the surrounding with adhesive, etc. The material 8 and the sheet 7 are provided on all or partial areas of the outer surface of the filmy material 4. The manufacturing and constructing methods for the rising and falling dam can be simplified and the repairing work can be made easier because the sheet 7 and the reinforcing material 8 can be easily exchanged.
