Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: A gene or a gene fragment encoding a ribozyme, containing a DNA sequence of formula I, formula II or formula III.

USE: Inhibition of synthesis of a ripening enzyme in a plant.

PREPARATION: Synthesis of an oligonucleotide divided by an inserted DNA sequence having the first and the last sequences of the oligonucleotide, complementary to the DNA sequence of a ripening enzyme to be inhibited, comprising preferably 7-10 nucleotides partially composed of a specific nucleotide having predetermined the functionality of the ribozyme or partially composed of a variable nucleotide.
