Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road state comprehension apparatus capable of precisely detecting abnormality of images from imaging means.SOLUTION: A road state comprehension apparatus takes images of a vehicle-running road with imaging means and determines the road state based on the taken images. The road state comprehension apparatus includes: calculation means that calculates a unit-time mean brightness of plural images obtained from the imaging means each of which is taken at a different time; comparison means that compares the unit-time mean brightness calculated by the calculation means and a pre-registered unit-time mean brightness to obtain the coincidence therebetween; abnormality detection means that detects the abnormality of the images from the imaging means by comparing the coincidence obtained by the comparison means and a threshold value which is preset while considering meteorological conditions at the installation location of the imaging means.
