To display a picture data from a line sensor camera on the screen of an indicator in an appropriate direction when a road surface on which a vehicle runs is photographed by the line sensor camera mounted on the vehicle.

This device is provided with a line sensor camera 20 which is mounted on a vehicle to photograph a road surface on which it runs, in the advancing direction and right-angle direction, an display memory means 28 for accumulating successively a picture data from the camera 20 per line, a control means 38 for controlling writing and reading the picture data in/from the means 28, and an display means 40 for displaying a picture data read from the means 28. The means 38 reads a picture data from the means 28 in reverse direction to a case of writing it in the means 28 and supplies it to the means 40. Therefore, the means 40 shows a picture showing the road surface in the same manner that an observing person facing in the advancing direction observes the road surface in a vehicle.
