To provide a road surface snow melting facility which enhances the snow melting effect thereof by exhaust heat to a level that is suitable for practical use.
According to the structure of the road surface snow melting facility, a heat storage space is secured under a road surface, and metallic hollow bodies are arranged in a lower surface of the heat storage space so as to reach a predetermined depth, followed by arranging an exhaust heat feed pipe for feeding exhaust heat of a burning device, and an exhaust heat discharge pipe for discharging the exhaust heat to the outside, in the heat storage space. The metallic hollow bodies transmit natural geothermal heat stored under the ground in summer, to the heat storage space. Therefore only by feeding exhaust heat to the heat storage space via the exhaust heat feed pipe, an internal temperature of the heat storage space does not drastically drop even if the ambient temperature is low or snow accumulates on the road surface. Excessive heat can be stored under the ground via the hollow bodies, and therefore the geothermal heat can be effectively used even in midwinter.
