To send a stop signal for an emergency stop to a robot control device without using any communication means, when a robot teaching process is implemented by use of an external computer (hereinafter referred to as personal computer).

A shielded cable 30 is extended from a robot control box 18 and a stop switch 29 is connected to the shielded cable 30. Furthermore, the shielded cable 30 is connected to a drive circuit for servo motors 5 and 6 for actuating arms 3 and 4 among control devices housed in the control box 18. When the stop switch 29 is operated, the stop signal thereof is directly sent to the drive circuit and this drive circuit operates to stop the servo motors 5 and 6.
