Abstract:
To provide a rock drill which can give a great strike force to a shank rod to obtain high excavating function without making a piston larger.
A rock drill is equipped with a shank rod 2 supported so as to be rotatable around an axis O and movable in the direction of an axis O; a rotating mechanism 3 for rotating the shank rod 2; and a hammering mechanism 4 for giving hammering force to the shank rod 2 in the direction of the axis O. The hammering mechanism 4 is equipped with a piston 13 which is fittedly inserted in a cylinder 12 so as to be movable in the direction of the axis O and hammers the shank rod 2, and this piston 13 is formed of cemented carbide alloy.
