To provide a rocking chair having a mechanism that a resistance (elastic force) to rocking can be easily changed.
The rocking chair includes a rock member 18 and a back frame 10, constituting a back support device. Back rocking of the rock member 18 is supported by right/left fixed rubber-pieces 40 and 40 disposed in a receiving member 41 and a movable rubber piece 43 equipped on a slider 74 of an operative unit. The receiving member 41 is fixed to a base. A press member 38 is fixed to the bottom of the rock member 18. The rubber pieces 40 and 40 are added with an initial load (pretension) by the rock member 18. The receiving member 41 includes a movable rubber-piece rest 44 for receiving the movable rubber piece 43 and a movable rubber-piece pass part 45 for allowing the movable rubber piece 43 to freely rotate, lying side by side and right and left. Changing an area of a press face of an elasticity means makes the resistance to the rocking change much or less.
