To provide a rocking device, with which the rocking motion of an object to be rocked can be smoothly and freely varied.

This rocking device rocks the object to be rocked along a predetermined direction and includes a rocking shaft for supporting the object to be rocked, an eccentric shaft which intersects the rocking shaft and keeps the axis center arranged at one end side of the rocking shaft is set to be off-center from its center of rotation, a servomotor, which revolvingly drives the eccentric shaft at a fixed position and an action controller for controlling the action of the servomotor, wherein the rocking shaft, one end of which is provided with an engaging part slidingly touchably engaging with the outer periphery of the eccentric shaft, can freely vary the rocking action of the object to be rocked by controlling the action of the servomotor. For example, this rocking device is suitable for the doctor rocking device of a gravure printing press.
