The rocking toy is provided inside a shell body which serves as the base with a pendulum which is equipped with either component of a permanent magnet or an electric magnet at the lower part and is operable around a shaft at the upper part, the other component of the permanent magnet or the electric magnet installed in a way that it sandwiches the other component of these magnets at an interval, and a controlling means for rocking the shell body by controlling the electric magnet to operate the pendulum around the shaft by the magnetic force.
