Title:
ROD HOLDING MECHANISM OF SEABED BORING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3020742
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance workability with a seabed boring device by providing at the lower end of a guide pipe a slide guide which has at its center a rod holding hole for passing a rod therethrough and whose outer end surface slides along the inner peripheral surface of the guide pipe.
CONSTITUTION: To perform the construction work of crushing the rock of the seabed 3, a ship 2 is towed to a work site and a stanchion 21 is lowered to the seabed 3 to set the ship 2 in a predetermined position on the sea, and a mast 4 is suspended to extend the rod 7 of a rock drill 6, and a bit 9 is positioned on the rock of the seabed 3 and drilling is started. A slide guide 11 is lowered to the upper end of the bit 9 because of its weight and holds a rod 7 at the center of a guide pipe 10 so as to reduce play. Then the rod 7 is surely positioned and facilitates counterboring so as to prevent curving of the hole. A seabed boring device can then be used even in the sea where metal corrosion is too intensive to use a centralizer, and workability can be enhanced.
