Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous judgment that preignition is recognized as heavy carbonization when heavy carbonization occurs in an ignition plug, by prohibiting the execution of a preignition detecting step in a preignition detection prohibiting step when detecting the occurrence of the heavy carbonization.
SOLUTION: Voltage V (ts) at the time of detecting heavy carbonization, stands ready to be read until heavy carbonization detecting time ts is passed away after starting execution, and is read after this standby time is passed away. The voltage V (ts) at the time of detecting heavy carbonization is judged whether or not it is a previously set heavy carbonization detecting voltage Vs or more, and if Yes, heavy carbonization occurs in an ignition plug, and this routine is finished without executing judgment whether or not preignition occurs for avoiding erroneous judgment. When No in the judgment of the voltage at the time of detecting heavy carbonization, it is judged that heavy carbonization is not generated and there is no possibility of erroneous judgment, then the voltage stands ready to be read until preignition detecting time tr is passed away.
