PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hepatitis C virus inhibitor.SOLUTION: A compound of formula (I), in which the variable group is defined herein, is an inhibitor of hepatitis C virus replication, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound, a method of using the compound to treat hepatitis C virus infection, and a process and intermediate useful for the preparation of the compound. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method of inhibiting hepatitis C virus replication in a mammal comprising a step of administering a compound or pharmaceutical composition of the present invention.SELECTED DRAWING: None
