To provide an apparatus capable of efficiently manufacturing a rod-shaped member as a foam, wherein a uniform cell diameter is achieved as a whole, by heating and curing a thermosetting resin held to a flowable state.

This apparatus for manufacturing the rod-shaped member is constituted of a die 16 for continuously extruding a thermoplastic resin plasticized under heating in order to form the jacket 12 of the rod-shaped member 48 to be obtained, the sizing sleeve 18 arranged on the downstream side of the die 16 to cool and solidify the jacket 12 while regulating the outer contour shape thereof, a supply pipe 20 for charging and supplying the thermosetting resin held to the flowable state in the jacket 12 and the transfer device 70 arranged on the downstream side of the sizing sleeve 18 to pull and transfer the main body part 46 of the rod-shaped member 48 comprising the thermosetting resin along with the jacket 12.
