To provide a roll coater coating device capable of making coating film components almost uniform in the case of applying a coating material containing a heterogeneous component such as an aggregate with a roll in a large scale.
The roll coater has a roll conveyer for transporting a plate to be coated, a coating material tank 11 for storing the coating material containing solid particles such as the aggregate, a roll coater part A formed to hold the transporting surface 4 of the roll conveyer, a circulating means 13 for receiving the coating material overflown from the roll coater part A and returning the received coating material to the coating material tank 11 and an auxiliary tank 14 for separately storing a clear coating material composed of a resin and a thinner in the components constituting the coating material. The clear coating material is replenished continuously or intermittently from the auxiliary tank 14 to the coating material tank 11.
