To provide a roll for electronic apparatus which is easy in manufacture, is low is cost, is light in weight and thin, is high in strength in spite of a small diameter, is excellent in thickness unevenness, out of roundness, straightness and deflection accuracy, is smooth in rotation and is free of eccentricity and a method for manufacturing a pipe for the roll to be used for the same.

The roll for electronic apparatus of 0.25 to 0.8 mm in thickness and 45 mm (diameter) in external diameter consists of an aluminum alloy of a tempered O or H material containing 4.1 to 5.6 wt.% magnesium and subjecting the aluminum alloy to electric resistance welding, then to drawing of 10 to 40% in the reduction ratio of drawing. The method for manufacturing this roll is provided.
