Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll press device in which the occurrence of indentation in a press roll can be prevented.SOLUTION: A roll press device 1 comprises: press rolls 3A and 3B for pressing active material layers 5 formed respectively on both front and rear surfaces of a metal foil 4, at a prescribed press pressure; a movement driving part 6 for bringing the press rolls 3A and 3B closer to each other or separating them from each other; optical sensors 7A and 7B that are disposed upstream of the press rolls 3A and 3B in a conveyance direction, that irradiate the active material layers 5 formed respectively on both front and rear surfaces of the metal foil with light, and that detect whether a convex foreign substance exists on the active material layers 5 by receiving reflection light from the active material layers 5; and a controller 8 for controlling the movement driving part 6 in such a way that the press pressure of the press rolls 3A and 3B is released, when the optical sensors 7A and 7B detect that a foreign substance is adhered to the active material layers 5.
