PURPOSE: To incorporate quickly a lower intermediate roll, by putting once the intermediate roll of a six-high mill on a rail extendedly installed on a floor plate, and taking the roll into a roll rearranging equipment with the aid of a roll pushing and pulling device of the rearranging equipment.

CONSTITUTION: An assembly 5 of lower intermediate roll of six-high mill is put on a rail 8 extendedly installed on a floor plate by operating a crane. Next, a roll pushing and pulling device 10 is advanced toward the assembly 5 to fit its hook to a hook of the assembly 5. The device 10 is retreated in this state to take the assembly 5 into a roll rearranging equipment 1. Further, when the assembly is pushed out of the equipment 1, the operation is reversed. Thus the operation is made remarkably easy because the assembly is not carried in from the upper part of the equipment 1.
