Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushing device equipped with position detectors for respective left and right ends of a metal strip that are not affected by metal powder produced in brushing and wash water and are not damaged by contact with the metal strip.
SOLUTION: The brushing device having a roll stand controlled by a control means to reciprocate along the width of the metal strip is equipped with the position detectors, attached to the roll stand, for detecting the respective widthwise ends of the metal strip. The position detectors are equipped with respective ejection parts for ejecting linear flow of water or air from one of front and back sides of the metal strip toward the other side in respective positions corresponding to respective ends of each brush roll, and respective reception parts, disposed opposite to the respective ejection parts across the metal strip, for receiving the ejected linear flow of water or air and outputting a detected signal resulting from the presence or absence of the ejection of the linear flow to the control means.
