To provide a rolled material junction device having a composition plane cutting condition detector to detect the cutting condition of a processing device to cut a composition plane.
This rolled material junction device is furnished with a carriage running in the rolling direction; a rear end clamp to horizontally grasp the rear end of a preceding rolled material 1 which is installed on the carriage; a front end clamp to horizontally grasp the front end of a following rolled material 2 which is installed on the carriage; a processing device to cutting the rear end of the preceding rolled material 1 and the front end of the following rolled material 2; and a compression device 26 to compress the processing surfaces of the preceding rolled material 1 and the following rolled material 2, almost to the same thickness of both rolled materials 1 and 2 for joining. The processing device has a cutter 23 driven to rotate by a hydraulic motor 101, and the cutting condition of the cutter 23 is monitored by measuring the variation of the hydraulic pressure fed to the hydraulic motor 101.
