To provide a roller conveyor having a simple and low cost structure, using a small drive source merely, and capable of preventing an article from being worn out because the rotation of a roller below the article stops when stopping the article forcedly.
Many rollers 1a are arranged in a row, a drive shaft 2 extending in the direction of conveyance below the rollers 1a is arranged, a pulley 3 is mounted through the drive shaft 2 at a predetermined pitch, and an inside diameter of a shaft hole of the pulley 3 is set to be larger than an outside diameter of the drive shaft 2 by about 0.25 mm to transmit power of the pulley 3 and the rollers 1a above it by a transmission belt 4. The pulley 3 and the drive shaft 2 transmit power by a friction force, but, if a large load for preventing the rotation of the rollers 1a acts, the contact between the pulley 3 and the drive shaft 2 slides to prevent the transmission of power.
