PURPOSE: To give sufficient electric conductivity and antistaticness and improve toner releasability by coating the core metal of a roller successively with a conductive rubber layer and an insulating compsn.
CONSTITUTION: The core metal of a metallic roller is coated with a conductive silicone rubber or a conductive foam silicone rubber, and this layer is further coated with an insulating compsn. made of a fluororubber, fluoroplastics, silicone rubber, or the like. An antistatic agent is added to an insulating compsn. to enhance antistatic performance and releasability from the toner. Since the roller has sufficient conductivity and antistatic performance, and further, releasability from the toner, stains due to a paper powder and the toner can be prevented.
