To provide a roller correction method for repeatedly giving bending between upper and lower rollers through a corrected plate while deflecting a roll in a plate width direction of the corrected plate by use of a roller leveler in which plural rollers are vertically arranged in a staggered pattern and which deflects the roll in the plate width direction of the corrected plate, thereby flattening the corrected plate, in which it can be prevented that deformation such as plate bending occurs when cutting the corrected plate after correction.SOLUTION: According to this method, an elongation strain difference of a corrected plate in a plate width direction which is determined from a profile of a plate surface of the corrected plate before correction, and an elongation strain difference in the plate width direction which exists in the corrected plate due to a residual stress of the corrected plate before correction are summed, the summed value is so made as to be a target elongation strain difference to be corrected, a roll is deflected in the plate width direction of the corrected plate so as to eliminate the target elongation strain difference, thereby correcting the roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
