PURPOSE: To prevent the chipping of a cutting edge by providing a flat land portion having the same axial line as a base at the end of the cutting edge.
CONSTITUTION: A cutting edge tip 20 used for a roll-cutting tool consists of a cemented carbide portion 24 and a diamond sintered body portion 22 and has rakes 26 faced rotationally forward of 21 mainframe and flanks 28 faced rotationally backward. A tip cutting edge (blade) 10 provided at the end of the cutting edge tip 20 has a flat land portion at the end. Because the flat land portion exists at the blade 10 of the cutting edge tip 20, the blades 10 of cutting edge tips 8 are aligned on the same rolling track. As a result line cutting amount of the cutting edge tips 8 is constant and a life is prolonged as a whole without concentrating load on partial cutting edge tips 8.
