Abstract:

To provide a rolling member capable of fully achieving hydrogen intrusion restraining effect and metal contact reduction effect even under high temperature and high bearing pressure conditions.

When an observation range is set by a reference line segment of a predetermined length and two lines La and Lb passing through both ends A and B in a perpendicular direction cross section with respect to a surface of a base material after coating nickel, and a ratio of a boundary length L1 of the base material M and a nickel coating film N in the observation range and a linear length L2 of the reference line segment (L1/L2) is obtained, an average value of the ratio between the boundary length L1 and the linear length L2 at least in arbitrary three portions is 1.2 to 2.4 times. The boundary length and the area of the nickel coating film N is increased, and adhesion strength of the coating film N with respect to the base material M is enhanced, forming of a newly prepared surface by micro metallic contact is reduced, hydrogen intrusion into the base material M is restrained, and rolling fatigue life is improved.
