Abstract:
PURPOSE: To compactly install the whole of a rolling mill by directly connecting a roll shaft to the speed reducing output shaft of a motor on the same center line and unnecessitating a connecting rod and a universal joint.
CONSTITUTION: When reduction motors 4, 4a are started, rolling rolls 1, 1a are rotated through roll shafts 2, 2a and rolling is performed through a usual procedure. When adjusting screws 7, 7 are rotated to adjust roll gap, the gap is freely ajusted. In this case, the reduction motor 4 is moved with the rolling roll 1 and the output shaft 5 of the motor and the roll shaft 2 of the rolling roll 1 are always kept in the same connection state, so, in spite of the gap of the rolling roll, the connection state is kept at constant and there is no probobility of interfering with rolling.
