Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable precise round rolling in a finishing block without using a separate mechanical operation.
CONSTITUTION: In a block type rolling mill having a plurality of roll stands arranged along a rolling pass line P, each roll stand is provided with a work roll pair mounted on a roll shaft pair and an intermediate driving composing element for mechanically connecting the roll shaft to one of two line shafts 22, 24 extending in parallel to the rolling pass line. Furthermore, the line shafts are driven with a common driving device, and the continuous work rolls of the roll stand are arranged so as to roll a single strand product with a method having no distortion. At least one roll stand MST3 is provided with additional work roll pairs R3a, R3b mounted on the additional roll shaft pairs 36a, 36b, respectively, and the additional roll shaft is mechanically connected to one of respective line shafts via the intermediate driving composing element.
