PURPOSE: To provide a rolling mill whose working efficiency and productivity are improved.
CONSTITUTION: The strip 11 which is fed to rolling rolls 13, 14 is rolled under the state that tension is imparted with pinch rolls 15, 16 and the rolled strip is cut down into a prescribed length with a flying shear 17. At this time, the feed rate of the rolled strip 11 is measured with a feed rate measuring instrument 26, the driving of the pinch rolls 15, 16 is controlled with a controller 22 based on this measured value, the thickness of the rolled strip 11 is measured with a thickness gage 25. And also, by measuring the roll gap between the rolling rolls 13, 14 with a roll gap sensor 21, the roll gap is adjusted based on this measured value and the temp. control is executed so as to be uniform in the direction of the axis of rotation of roll with roll heaters 24 which are incorporated in the rolling rolls 13, 14.
